AN APPLE fan was left baffled when a little pill icon appeared on his iPhone – but the internet had answers.
In a post to Reddit on July 24, a user begged other internet users for help identifying a peculiar icon.
“Does anyone know what this symbol is?” the user wrote, accompanying the plea with a screenshot of his iPhone.
Next in the weather widget there was an icon representing two pills.
While some users joked that it had nefarious intentions, others instantly recognized the feature.
“It’s the icon you chose for one of your focus modes,” wrote one user. “When it appears next to the watch means it is activated.”
A different user even confirmed the theory.
“I actually have this icon set as my focus for when I’m at work because I’m a pharmacy technician!” the Redditor exclaimed.
Focus mode is a little-known feature that has gone unnoticed since it was introduced with the release of iOS 15.
Litter accounts this as a way to “reduce distractions and set limits.”
Users who want to focus on a specific activity can select one of the provided Focus options or even create their own.
The feature was introduced as an extension to Do Not Disturb, allowing users to establish different permissions for apps, contacts, and more.
With the advent of iOS 16, Focus mode has become even easier to use.
Users can select which applications and people can contact them when a Focus is activated using the Mute Notifications function.
Furthermore, Litter added options to allow or mute notifications from selected people for the first time.
