A LEAKED audio revealed Donald Trump’s shocking conversation with Tim Walz, where the former president praised his current rival.

The shocking recording dropped just hours after Republicans criticized the Minnesota governor for his handling of protests in 2020.

A Trump offensive against Walz began when the governor was named Harris’ vice presidential running mate.

Republicans have recently criticized Walz for his handling of the protests that erupted in Minneapolis, Minnesota, after George Floyd was killed.

This conviction was reversed after a call between then-President Trump and governors struck a different tone.

The June 1, 2020 conference call showed Trump highlighting and praising Governor Walz’s actions during the protests.

“I completely agree with the way he handled the situation in the last few days. I asked him to do it,” Trump said in the call obtained by CBS.

The then President told the group of governors that Walz had “dominated” in his reaction to the protests.

“The best example, as I mentioned a few seconds ago, is Minneapolis,” Trump said.

“What happened in the state of Minnesota was incredible. They were the laughingstock of the world.”

Trump then said he called Walz a few days after the protests began and continued to praise him.

“You have a big National Guard out there ready to come in and fight like hell. I tell you, the best part: what they did in Minneapolis was incredible,” Trump added.

“They came in and dominated, and it happened immediately.”

The then-president was also heard praising Walz’s character.

“He’s a great guy,” Trump said.

GOP ATTACKS

Republicans have attacked Walz in recent days with criticism of his response time in 2020.

JD VANCE VS TIM WALZ

Minnesota Governor Tim Walz and Senator JD Vance had full lives before becoming politicians.

Walz and Vance both served in the military. Walz was in the Army National Guard for 24 years and J.D. Vance was in the U.S. Marine Corps for four years.

Veterans share a love for Diet Mountain Dew.

However, Walz spent most of his adult life as a high school teacher and taught for a year in China after graduating from college.

In 1999, he was the faculty advisor for the first Gay Straight Alliance at the school where he worked.

Walz only entered politics in 2004, when he volunteered for John Kerry’s presidential campaign.

In 2006, he ran for Congress and defeated incumbent Republican Gil Gutknecht. He served until 2019, when he was elected governor of Minnesota.

Meanwhile, Vance grew up after a tumultuous childhood in Ohio and went to college after serving in the Navy.

After graduating from Ohio State University, he attended Yale Law School, where he began writing his best-selling memoir Hillbilly Elegy.

Vance briefly worked in politics before moving to the technology sector in California, where he met venture capitalist Peter Thiel.

In 2016, he published his book and became a well-known name in popular culture.

Vance, once staunchly anti-Donald Trump, ran for Senate on a pro-MAGA platform in 2022 and was elected with Trump’s blessing.

Several Republican Party figures questioned the time it took the Minnesota governor to mobilize the National Guard.

Donald Trump’s running mate JD Vance earlier this week said Walz “allowed rioters to burn down Minneapolis in the summer of 2020,” according to CNN.

Texas Governor Greg Abbott posted a conviction of Walz in X.

“He let cities in his state burn,” Abbott wrote of the protests.

Trump campaign press secretary Karoline Leavitt also launched a scathing attack on Walz this week, according to CBS News.

“Governor Walz allowed Minneapolis to burn for days despite President Trump’s offer to send troops and pleas for help from Minneapolis’ liberal mayor,” Leavitt said.

“In this daily call with governors on June 1, days after the riots began, President Trump recognized Governor Walz for FINALLY taking steps to mobilize the National Guard to end the violence in the city.”
