DONALD Trump revealed the dates of his first debate against opponent Kamala Harris in a chat with the media, as Harris avoids questions for another week since Joe Biden left office.

Trump spoke to reporters at his Mar-a-Lago estate in Florida, a day after Harris raised eyebrows by attacking anti-Israel protesters during a campaign event.

He began the press conference with a serious statement about the future of America.

“I think our country is right now in the most dangerous position it has ever been in from an economic standpoint, from a security standpoint,” Trump said.

He warned that the US is “very close to a world war”.

He criticized Harris for choosing a “very radical” running mate in Minnesota Governor Tim Walz.

Just yesterday, Harris criticized the anti-Israel protesters who interrupted her rally and told them they would get Trump president if they continued.

Trump announced that if Harris accepts, the two nominees will debate for the first time on Fox on September 4.

The two will face off on September 10th on ABC.

“I think they will be very revealing,” he said.

He then told reporters that he had not changed his policies before his confrontation with Harris.

“I think she’s worse than Biden because he was forced into office, but she was there long before,” he said.

Trump then criticized Harris as “incompetent” for failing the bar exam.

“If she becomes president, our country will be a giant failure,” he said.

Trump said Harris had good options for vice president, but that Josh Shapiro would also have been the wrong choice.

“I have to say, J.D. Vance really stood out,” he said of his own running mate.

“He’s doing a fantastic job.”

Trump’s main political points

DONALD Trump closed the Republican National Convention on July 18 by telling his supporters he wanted to become president for “all Americans.”

  • Implement tax cuts, including no tax on tips
  • Protecting Social Security and Medicare – Trump said ‘incomes will soar and the middle class will prosper like never before’
  • Securing the borders – He promised to end the ‘border nightmare’. That means two things on day one: ‘Drill baby Drill’, as he said, and closing the borders
  • Finishing the construction of the wall
  • Keeping our ‘sons and daughters safe’
  • Replenish the military and build a military ‘dome’ – Trump insisted he could stop wars with just a phone call and said no military would be able to penetrate the US if he took office
  • End the war in Ukraine and impose tariffs on Iran
  • Promising to “beat” China
  • Work to lower prices and alleviate inflation
  • Reducing the cost of energy
  • Making cities “safe, clean and beautiful” again
  • Making it possible for Americans to buy gas-powered cars, ending the electric vehicle mandate on the first day of his presidency

He raged at reporters for not speaking up when they asked him questions – and even criticized one journalist for asking a “stupid question”.

He said Harris can’t hold a press conference because she doesn’t know how.

“She’s not smart enough,” he said.

Trump also praised Elon Musk’s “courage” for supporting him ahead of the pair’s interview on Monday night.

Trump also said that not enough people are talking about the January 6, 2021 insurrection.

“I think the people on January 6th were treated very unfairly,” Trump said.

He said the crowd he spoke to that day was the largest crowd he had ever spoken to — and that he gave a “peaceful” and “patriotic” speech.

“No one has spoken to bigger crowds than me,” he said, comparing himself to Martin Luther King Jr.
