DONALD Trump appeared to speak with a lisp in his interview with Elon Musk on Monday night, raising questions among listeners.

The former president was supposed to sit down with Musk for an interview on X Spaces at 8 p.m. ET, but technical difficulties delayed it until 8:42 p.m. ET.

Listeners questioned why the former president’s voice changed, with some suggesting it may have been due to an issue with the audio.

During the interview so far, Musk has apologized for the “massive DDOS attack” that was revealed to be the reason the interview was delayed and Trump has spoken about the assassination attempt on his life.

X users accessed the platform to comment on the apparent change in the former president’s voice during the speech.

“Who gave President Trump the babbling microphone?”. asked one user.

“Yes, the lisp I just heard from Elon and Trump – it’s definitely an audio issue,” said a second user.

“It’s probably due to audio compression issues, but Trump seems to have a lisp,” said a third user.

“Trump developed a lisp overnight?”. asked a fourth user.

“Trump’s audio quality is bad, he looks like he has a lisp, has anyone else heard this?” said a fifth user.

Meanwhile, the conversation began with Trump recalling the assassination attempt on his life.

“I knew right away it was a bullet. I knew right away it was the ear. I also heard people yelling bullets, get down. We had bullets flying over my head,” he recalled.

Elon Musk’s interview with Trump ‘crashes’ X Spaces as viewers struggle to connect and say the pair ‘already broke the Internet’

“I wanted them to know I was OK,” Trump said of his choice to stand up and raise his fist in the air after being shot in the ear by Thomas Matthew Crooks.

“The place was crazy.”

Trump reiterated that he will be at Butler again and is expected to return in October.

“Let’s go back to Butler,” Trump excitedly told Musk.

Donald Trump and Elon Musk’s complicated relationship

Former President Donald Trump and Telsla CEO Elon Musk’s relationship got off to a rocky start, but the two have since reconciled, with Musk fully endorsing Trump and interviewing him on X Spaces on August 12.

In 2022, Elon Musk and Donald Trump publicly feuded on X, then still known as Twitter.

Trump called Musk a liar and a “bullfighter” during a rally in Alaska.

“Elon is not going to buy Twitter,” Trump said at the time.

“You know, he said the other day, ‘I’ve never voted for a Republican.’ I said, ‘I didn’t know that – you told me you voted for me, so he’s another idiot artist, but he’s not going to believe that.’

In response to Trump’s criticism, the SpaceX founder responded back.

“I don’t hate this man, but it’s time for Trump to hang up his hat and sail off into the sunset,” Musk posted.

Musk also bought X months later.

The X owner said he had previously voted mostly Democratic since becoming a U.S. citizen in 2002.

However, when the 2024 elections arrived, he supported Florida Governor Ron DeSantis, Trump’s rival.

“My preference for the 2024 presidency is someone sensible and centrist,” Musk wrote on X in 2022.

“I expected this to happen [be] the case for the Biden administration, but we are disappointed so far.”

His change in political parties can be attributed to his falling relationship with President Joe Biden, who did not invite Musk to the 2021 White House electric vehicle summit.

Despite past problems, Trump and Musk’s relationship changed in March after they met at Mar-a-Lago.

Trump was also previously against electric vehicles, but has since changed his stance.

“I’m for electric cars,” he said at a rally earlier this month.

“I have to be, because Elon supported me so strongly. So I have no choice.”

Following the assassination attempt at Trump’s rally in July, Musk announced his support for the former president.

“I fully support President Trump and hope for his speedy recovery,” Musk wrote on X after the shooting.

During a recent press conference, Trump praised Musk.

“I respect Elon a lot. He respects me,” he said.

“Elon, more than anyone I know, he loves this country. He loves the concept of this country, but like me, he says this country is in big trouble, it’s in tremendous danger.”

TRUMP’S COMMENTS ON BORDER PATROL

The conversation then turned to the topic of immigration, with Trump criticizing his opponent Kamala Harris.

Trump called Harris a “liar,” saying she should be the “border czar.”

“She was in charge of the border, and the border is the worst of all,” Trump said.

“I saw an ad from Kamala saying she was going to provide border security…where has she been for three and a half years?”

The former president said when he returns to be president: “We will have the biggest deportation in our country”.

The duo also addressed inflation, education and the former president’s relationship with Kim Jong Un.

The impromptu interview between the pair comes after Musk endorsed the former president in the 2024 election following an assassination attempt at his rally in Pennsylvania on July 13.

Trump was grazed in the ear by a bullet fired by gunman Thomas Crooks, who was later shot to death by the Secret Service.

Bullets from Crook’s gun also killed one participant and left two others seriously injured.

Although the pair have had a rocky relationship, Musk shared who he would support this election on X following the shooting.

“I fully support President Trump and hope for his speedy recovery,” Musk said he wrote.
