BARRON Trump’s selection as a delegate to the Republican National Convention is a sign of his family’s strengthening control within the Republican Party, experts told The US Sun.

People close to Trump’s team say the imposing 18-year-old could be a major player in Republican circles in the coming years.

Barron, who will graduate from high school in just a few days, was named a Florida Republican Party free delegate ahead of the party’s convention in Milwaukee, Wisconsin.

Trump’s adult children Eric, Donald Jr and Tiffany were also named delegates for Florida.

The convention, which takes place in July, will see Donald Trump crowned as the Republican Party’s nominee for the presidential election.

It’s unclear what path Barron will take once he finishes high school, but sources close to Trump’s team told The US Sun it could be in policy.

“The world is Barron’s oyster,” a source revealed.

“He could be a major Republican player in the years to come if he so chooses.

“He’s only 18 and still has time to figure out the path he wants to take in life.”

A Trump official said Political that Barron is very interested in the political process.

Meanwhile, David Richards of the University of Lynchburg believes Barron’s selection is a sign of the Trump family’s strengthening control over the Republican Party.

“This seems like just another example of how Trump extended family installed itself in the Republican Party,” he said.

“This is part of the growing role the Trumps play in the Republican Party.

“Trump likes to keep his family close and involved.”

But he was careful not to overstate the importance of Barron’s selection.

“In the broader scope of things, it doesn’t mean much. There will be 2,429 delegates there, so any one individual is no big deal.”

Barron Trump’s life

Barron Trump is Donald Trump’s youngest son. He was selected as one of the Florida Republican Party’s delegates ahead of the Republican National Convention this summer. The US Sun takes a look back at Barron Trump’s life.

Barron Trump was born on March 20, 2006, to parents Melania and Donald Trump.

Barron was seen with his father Donald when the mogul received a star on the Hollywood Walk of Fame in 2007.

During his childhood, he was also photographed with his parents at the US Open tennis championship.

Barron went viral when he drowsily struggled to keep his eyes open as Donald gave a victory speech after the 2016 presidential election.

Barron attended school in New York before continuing his studies in Maryland in May 2017.

In January 2021, Donald Trump left Washington DC after losing the 2020 presidential election. The family went to Florida.

Barron continued his education at Oxbridge Academy in West Palm Beach, Florida.

Barron turned 18 on March 20, 2024. He missed the opportunity to vote for his father in the Florida Republican Party primary by one day.

He is expected to graduate from Oxbridge Academy in May 2024 and will be eligible for postgraduate study at New York University.

Barron was named one of the Florida Republican Party’s 41 delegates to the Republican National Convention.

Members of the Trump family hold prominent positions in the Republican Party.

Lara Trump, married to Eric, is one of the co-chairs of the Republican National Committee.

Barron, Donald Jr, Eric and Tiffany will make up four of Florida’s 41 free delegates.

Florida was once considered a swing state in the race for the presidency, but current polls suggest Trump has a clear lead over Biden in the Sunshine State.

Barron’s selection comes just days before he graduates from Oxbridge Academy in West Palm Beach.

He turned 18 just one day after the Republican Party primaries were held in Florida, meaning he couldn’t vote for his father.

Barron’s family has been intent on keeping him out of the spotlight since Trump left the White House in 2021.

He has not yet been seen on the campaign trail.

But he was photographed at the funeral of Melania Trump’s mother, Amalija Knavs.

He was seen towering over Trump as they headed to the church for the service.

CLOSE BOND

Melania and Barron are known for their close relationship and she has been helping him with his post-graduation plans.

Sources told previously People that Melania is a loving and protective mother towards her son.

Melania’s friends are members of her family” said one.

“She always surrounded herself with her family.

“She’s a loving mother to Barron and very protective of him. That’s nothing new.”

Melania was thrilled with her son’s independence and loves that he is stubborn.

Reports emerged last month that Barron might continue his studies at New York University.

If he returns to the Empire State, his study site could be just a few miles from Trump Tower.

Barron lived in New York for the first 11 years of his life.

NYU bosses did not respond to requests for comment when approached by The US Sun.

Barron’s selection as delegate comes as Trump juggles court dates with rallies and campaign stops ahead of the November election.

Trump is in court for a trial in which he is accused of falsifying business documents in an attempt to cover up hush money payments.

Trump vehemently denies the accusations made against him.

But the case is just one of four criminal charges.

Trump has been indicted for his alleged role in the January 6, 2021, insurrection and has been accused of storing classified documents at his Mar-a-Lago resort.

Trial dates for both cases remain unknown.

Earlier this week, Judge Aileen Cannon indefinitely postponed the ruling on Trump’s confidential documents.
