SPIES will be sent to stop small boat gangs who are “no better than terrorists”, Sir Keir Starmer has said.
The Labor leader will today reveal plans for a Border Security Command force if he makes it to Number 10.

The unit will have powers to direct officers from the security services – including MI5 – the National Crime Agency and the police.
In a speech in Dover, he will promise hundreds of new officers to stamp out trafficking gangs with funding of £75 million due to the cancellation of the Rwanda scheme.
Existing anti-terrorism laws will be strengthened to target Channel crossings, including seizing phones from illegal migrants to gather information about gangs.
Smugglers suspected of links to organized crime may also have their banks investigated and their premises raided.
Sir Keir will use the announcement to blunt Tory attacks that he lacks a credible plan to control illegal migration, after promising to cancel flights to Rwanda.
But Home Secretary James Cleverly said last night: “No one believes Keir Starmer wants to control our borders when he has previously said immigration controls are ‘racist’ and blocked the deportation of violent sex offenders.”
Yesterday, 36 more migrants crossed the English Channel in a small boat, adding to the more than 8,500 who have made the dangerous journey this year.
Justice Secretary Alex Chalk will today suggest the European Union Court in Human rights adapt to face the migration crisis.
He will say: “The law It is a living instrument. It must be adapted to reality.”
