RISHI Sunak confessed today that he “can’t remember” when he first learned about sex.

But the prime minister said he was certain he never learned at school that there were 72 different genders.

Rishi Sunak discussed his own sex education experience on Loose Women today

Appearing on Loose Women, Sunak insisted that his plans to reform sex education in schools will safeguard children and put an end to contested gender theories that are taught as fact.

The PM said: “What’s important to me is that we should let children be children.

“What was worrying was that parents might not know what their children are learning from these sensitive subjects.

“Parents should always be able to know what their children are learning at school.”

Asked what he knew about sex at 13, Sunak replied: “I can’t remember when I went through that period.”

He added: “I (learned about sex) through a mixture of things.

“When I was growing up, we didn’t hear concerns about children being taught that there are 72 gender identities – I don’t remember that being an issue when I was younger.”

Ministers announced this week that sex education should not be taught to children under the age of nine.

And after that point, sex education classes should be based on “scientific” facts and not gender ideology.

The Prime Minister ordered a review of lessons on relationships, sex and health education last year following fury over “age-inappropriate, extreme, sexualising and inaccurate” content.

Conservative MP Miriam Cates told the PM that children were learning there were 72 genders, as well as receiving graphic lessons about oral sex.

This morning Education Secretary Gillian Keegan responded to criticism that new guidelines would create a “great silence” in discussions about gender.

She insisted that the approach will still allow children to “explore ideologies”, but that “gender ideology” should not be “taught as fact”.

On Loose Women, Sunak pledged to remain as MP for North Yorkshire if he loses this year’s general election.

The PM said: “Of course I’ll stay, I love being a deputy”.

And he responded to suggestions that “your heart is in the right place, but why do you hate pensioners”.
