AMERICANS are almost completely split down the middle in terms of voting preferences ahead of November’s presidential election, a bombshell new poll has revealed.

With less than six months until Election Day, an exclusive poll from The US Sun shows the two likely front-runners are divided by just one percentage point.

According to polls, 42% of US Sun readers would vote tomorrow for Donald Trump, slightly ahead of 41% for incumbent Joe Biden.

After months of student protests against Biden’s apparent lack of action on the Israel-Palestine conflict and Trump’s ongoing legal troubles, voter turnout has been a major factor ahead of the presidential election.

Likewise, with the two longest-serving candidates in U.S. political history — both well-known and controversial figures — some experts predicted an increase in votes for third-party candidates.

But poll numbers show that 85% of Democrats still plan to vote for Biden in 2024, just slightly less than the 88% of Republicans who expect to vote for former President Trump.

Of the independent voters questioned, 37% were slightly more likely to vote for Trump — just three percentage points above the 34% of independents who said they were more likely to vote for Biden.

And 17% of women do not plan to vote in the next election, compared to just 7% of men.

The survey also reveals where voters are most feeling the pinch ahead of the election.

Tied at 37%, respondents listed the two most important expenses this year as housing, household bills and groceries.

The US Sun found a group of divided voters when we ventured into New York City’s Times Square to get the opinions of everyday Americans.

A Georgia voter said he supported Biden but warned about the “trillions of dollars” spent on “social programs” that did nothing but “increase inflation.”

Biden challenges Trump to a debate in just a few weeks, says ‘do my friend’ as he taunts former president about hush money trial

And Sandy Kane, aka Naked Cowgirl, a famous Times Square figure, said she supported Biden but originally supported Donald Trump.

It turns out that Biden and Trump, who are virtually guaranteed to be the leading candidates in November, have agreed to two televised debates.

The first will be on June 27th on CNN, while the second will be on September 10th on ABC, just eight weeks before Election Day on November 5th.

The June debate will take place just 12 days after the June 15 conclusion of Trump’s criminal trial in New York over alleged hush money payments.

Meanwhile, controversial independent candidate Robert F. Kennedy Jr. said he will meet the criteria to participate in the CNN debate before the June 20 deadline.

What are Trump and Biden’s platforms?

A look at the issues that matter most to candidates.

Biden Talking Points:

  • The importance of democracy after the January 6th attack on the Capitol
  • Defender of abortion rights after the Supreme Court overturned Roe v. Wade at 6-3 in 2022
  • His Build Back Better plan, the $2.2 trillion infrastructure spending bill introduced in 2021
  • Support for Ukraine and Israel while they are at war
  • Highlight the strong US economy and low unemployment rates during his presidency

Trump Talking Points:

  • Slam issues on the US-Mexico border, which was a critical talking point for his 2016 victory
  • Criticize the series of criminal and civil cases filed against him
  • Applaud the Trump-appointed Supreme Court justices who overturned Roe after the death of Ruth Bader Ginsburg
  • Discuss a plan to end the war between Russia and Ukraine, although he did not say which country wants to win
  • Defends parents’ rights to regulate and restrict discussion of gender, sexuality and race in schools

CNN requires that candidates have enough state votes to reach 270 electoral college votes and have at least 15% in four different national polls.

RFK Jr. insisted he is being “excluded” from the debates by both Biden and Trump because “they’re afraid I’m going to win.”

This week, Biden sat down for a rare one-on-one interview in the face of polls showing his approval ratings falling.

The incumbent trails former President Trump in several national and swing-state polls, including one from The US Sun.

In devastating news for the Biden camp, new polls show Trump leading in a head-to-head matchup between the two in five crucial states: Arizona, Georgia, Michigan, Nevada and Pennsylvania.

Biden maintains a slim lead among registered voters in a single swing state: Wisconsin.

Furthermore, within the Biden camp, there are fears that his apparent lack of action on Israel as the conflict intensifies in the Middle East has alienated him from his younger, more progressive base.

One of the most shocking shifts since 2020 has occurred among younger and Hispanic voters.

According to polls from The New York Times and Siena, Trump and Biden are now almost completely tied among 18- to 29-year-olds and Hispanic voters.

Both groups gave Biden more than 60% of their votes in 2020.

Trump also won more than 20% among black voters.

If this is replicated in November, it would represent the largest number of black supporters of any Republican presidential candidate in 60 years.

However, Biden’s vote remained among older and white voters, with several northern states on a knife’s edge.

About 244 million Americans are eligible to vote in the November election, with the 2020 race seeing a record turnout of 66.6%.

Polls suggest that November’s election race could be the closest since 2000.
