COLOMBIA, SC – Nikki Haley said Wednesday that he will vote in favor donald trump in the general election, encouraging the presumptive Republican Party nominee to work hard to win the support of those who supported her in the primaries.
“I will vote for Trump,” Haley, Trump’s former UN ambassador, said during an event at the Hudson Institute in Washington.
But Haley also made it clear that she feels Trump has work to do to win over voters who supported her during the primary campaign and continue to vote for her in the ongoing primary contests.
“That being said, I stand by what I said in my suspension speech,” Haley added. “Trump would be smart to reach out to the millions of people who voted for me and continue to support me, and not assume they will simply stand with him. And I really hope he does.”
Haley closed her own bid for the Republican nomination two months ago, but did not endorse immediately Trump. Both candidates harshly criticized each other during the primaries.
