TORY minister Steve Baker said there is no place for Nigel Farage in the Conservative Party because he “intoxicates” debates.

He accused the Reform UK leader of “tarnishing the reputation” of an entire community with his attacks on Muslims.

The Brexit hardman also launched a blue-on-blue attack on Suella Braverman, criticizing her for saying child grooming gangs were “almost all British Pakistanis”.

“Unfortunately, the way Nigel Farage talks particularly about minorities is extremely unhelpful and intoxicates a number of debates,” said the northern Ireland said the minister.

Asked whether Farage should join the Conservative Party, Steve told The Sun’s Never Mind The Ballots: “Not as long as he continues to talk about minorities in the way he does.

“I would just like to note that, as far as I know, one of the people who said that about Nigel was Suella.

“As much as I don’t want to come into conflict with Suella, I have parted ways with her over the way she handled a very sensitive issue – tarnishing the reputation of the wider community – and it is simply not acceptable in our country to do so.”

Baker was instrumental in persuading the Brexit Party – Reform’s previous name – to step aside in 2019. It allowed Boris Johnson to achieve his impressive 80-seat majority.

However, Baker says he has a “feud” with Farage over his comments about the Muslim community.

Steve said some of his best supporters and pillars of the community at his Wycombe headquarters are British Muslims: “Nigel says things that are extremely unhelpful and which run the risk of, in the end, spreading alarm among members of the public quite unjustified.”

It comes as Conservative MPs debate how to deal with Farage as Reform UK’s popularity rises.

If the polls are correct, the Conservatives could be reduced to the fewest seats since their party was formed in 1834.

And that would mean an immediate civil war between the surviving deputies during the future from the party.

Commons leader Penny Mordaunt branded Farage a “Labour enabler” and warned that a vote in favor of Reform UK will give Sir Keir Starmer the keys to Number 10.

Farage’s party overtook the Conservatives in an opinion poll for the first time last week, when he declared: “We are now the opposition.”

And another poll this week predicts that Reform could win up to seven constituencies in the 4th of July General Elections.
