North Dakota Governor Doug Burgum and Florida Senator Marco Rubio have also been named as possible choices.

Vance opened up about the speculation in an interview that aired on Fox and friends First on Wednesday, where he was asked about the possibility of being Trump’s vice president.

“I’m human. When you know this is a possibility, if it doesn’t happen there will certainly be disappointment,” he said.

Vance revealed his love for being a father alongside his wife Usha, who is a litigator at the San Francisco and Washington D.C.-based law firm Munger, Tolles, & Olson.

Vance and his wife were classmates at Yale Law School before they married in 2014 and had three children.

“I love being a father and Usha loves being a mother and we love doing this together,” said the 39-year-old.

“That’s not going to change whether Trump asks me to be vice president or not.”

However, Trump may have to accept that his voice will not be the only guiding force behind Vance if he is chosen to run for vice president.

“I’m one of those guys who really benefits of having a powerful female voice over his left shoulder saying, ‘Don’t do this, do that,'” he said to Megyn Kelly on his podcast in 2020.

If this position was occupied by the grandmother, “now it is Usha”, he admitted.

STRATEGY

Although the 78-year-old previously said he would announce his vice president at the Republican Convention scheduled to begin in Milwaukee on July 15, plans in the GOP camp may have changed.

“Early last week, there was a definite change regarding an announcement scheduled for the start of the convention,” a person familiar with the planning told NBC.

“It could happen today… or… in mid-July!!” Republican Party political strategist and Trump campaign advisor Chris LaCivita he said on X, formerly Twitter, following the NBC report.

O anonymous Sources have suggested that a strategic announcement could be made around several key Trump dates in an attempt to influence News cycles and fundraising.

A candidate could be named shortly before or immediately after Trump’s July 11 sentencing, NBC sources suggested.

“As President Trump himself has said, the main criteria in selecting a vice president is a strong leader who will be a great president for eight years after his inauguration. next the four-year term ends,” he said in a statement.

“But anyone who says they know who or when President Trump will choose his vice president is lying, unless that person is named Donald J. Trump.”

As he prepares for the debate, Trump is reportedly holding informal meetings with insiders, which could include the leading candidates for vice president.
