PRESIDENT Joe Biden strangely claimed that last night’s debate with Donald Trump went well.
The commander in chief made the comments while making a stop at a Waffle House restaurant following the clash in Atlanta, Georgia.
Biden staggered and stumbled throughout the 90-minute contest but defended his performance.
He boasted to reporters and restaurant patrons that he did well.
Biden’s performance has been the target of severe criticism.
Even top Democrats have criticized Biden’s performance — with some even speculating that he should drop out of the presidential race.
A CNN snap poll found Trump won the debate by a margin of about two to one — a clear reversal from the first debate between the two, four years in which the Republican mogul was considered too hot.
The current president entered the busy restaurant with his wife Jill as many customers chatted and laughed with Biden.
Reporters inside Waffle House asked the president how he thought he fared during the confrontation.
“I think we did well,” he replied.
The president passed by several customers and shook their hands while exchanging pleasantries with them.
Biden then went to the register to get his food.
“We got an order here, somewhere,” he said.
“Asking for Biden,” Jill then said, bursting into laughter.
Reporters continued to question the president about his performance and concerns about his age and voice during the debate.
