ELATED Russians celebrated Biden’s car crash debate on TV, while the Kremlin said Putin was apparently “too bored” to watch it.
The 81-year-old current US president staggered and stumbled during his 90-minute confrontation with 78-year-old Donald Trump on Thursday.
The impression in Moscow is that Putin will be able to dictate the terms of the war in Ukraine, with the West appearing leaderless.
The Kremlin appeared to play down the debate, as Putin’s team said the dictator was too busy to wake up and watch the confrontation.
Spokesman Dmitry Peskov said: “I don’t think you would expect the president of Russia to be able to set an alarm clock, wake up in the morning and watch a debate in the United States.
“After all, this is not an event on our agenda.”
Peskov added: “We have many issues that are really important for our country and that are relevant to us. These are the issues our president is dealing with.
“The debates in the United States are by no means in the category of the main issues on the agenda.
“But still, of course, we have seen media reports about these debates, let’s get acquainted with them in more detail.
“This is an internal matter for the United States. So, of course, we will familiarize ourselves with all the statements that have been made.”
‘Totally unfit for office’, Farage rips Biden apart

per Harry Cole, political editor
NIGEL Farage has branded Joe Biden’s election debate performance as “worse than anyone would believe”.
The reformist leader and Trump ally told The Sun that the President of the USA is “totally unfit for office.”
His intervention comes as labor leader Sir Keir Starmer refused to comment on the President’s worrying performance.
Sir Keir would not comment on the horrific clash, saying this morning: “I have to say I have enough on my hands with my own election campaign to go too far on this.
“Ultimately, the person who will be President of the United States will be determined by the American people in due time and if we are elected into government to serve, we will deal with whoever is President.
“The relationship between the UK and the US is strong, it is historic and it is obviously above the individuals who hold office.”
Asked if he was worried about Biden, he said: “Well, look, I don’t think commenting on the American election is helpful. We have our own elections going on here.
“And in the end it’s not up to me, it’s up to the American people to decide and they will decide and we will deal with whoever they elect as their president.”
Many Russians believe that Donald Trump would be more supportive of Putin, both in supporting Moscow’s demands and in stopping the flow of Western munitions to Kiev.
Professor Alexey Chesnakov of the National Research University Higher School of Economics declared: “Who won today’s debate? Put on!”
Putin’s gleeful propagandists rejoiced in exploiting Biden’s poor performance.
Valentin Bogdanov on the Kremlin’s mouthpiece RT: “A half-open mouth, unblinking eyes, a blank expression on his face – this is how Joe Biden appeared before an audience of millions.
“He added to this sad spectacle a hoarse voice, swallowed words and constant slips of the tongue.
“CNN’s most loyal liberal anchors were powerless. The head of the White House didn’t even lose to Trump. To himself.”
There was now “deep panic” in the Democratic Party.
The pro-Kremlin channel Pool No. 3 mocked that Biden “was taken out in public for an hour and a half without assistants, cheat sheets or prompter and everyone saw who he really was.
It described the US president as “an elderly, frail man with a poor memory and partial loss of thought, who, in an amicable way, should take care of his grandchildren at home, and not aggressively impose democracy around the world.”
“Simply put, the United States discovered that its king was completely naked,” he continued.
“That’s why there’s so much noise in the Washington swamp.”
He stated: “Putin, naturally, won the debates.”
Political scientist Alexander Gorbunov ridiculed the US political system, contrasting it with Russia’s dictatorship, which guaranteed strong leadership.
He said: “Everyone understands that [contender] has already lost its presence in this world, and the second is present only for fun [Trump].
“In theory, both should have been abandoned in the primaries: for health reasons and a combination of scandals.
“But in practice, no one is going to say out loud, ‘Listen, these two already sat in the Oval Office, let’s think about someone else?’ “
“The third [option] it’s not even a hypothetical idea… As they say in English: ‘If not Putin, then who?’” Gorbunov said.
Another pro-Kremlin Telegram channel reported: “Putin’s convincing victory.”
Vladimir Kornilov, an analyst at state media outlet Russia Today, noted a veteran Democratic strategist saying that Biden cannot now beat Trump.
The Russian expert said: “I just want to ask this “experienced strategist”: wasn’t this clear to you before the debate?”
Earlier, state-owned Channel One said: “For Donald Trump, the issue is that he is a convicted criminal, and for Joe Biden, it is his age.
“This may seem like a formality, but the chances of at least one or both of them not being candidates are not zero.”
