Reform is on track to claim victory in 13 seats, according to the exit poll.

This would put them behind Labour, the Conservatives and the Liberal Democrats, but ahead of the SNP, who are only expected to get ten.

It means Farage is set to become Clacton’s MP after trying and failing to be elected seven times.

Early forecasts have also suggested that Reform is on track to overtake the Liberal Democrats as the third force in British politics when it comes to votes cast.

According to the exit poll, they will come in second place in 155 constituencies.

While waiting for his own result, Farage said on X: “There will be more than six million votes.

After the exit poll showed Reform crushing Westminster, Farage said: “It’s been amazing.

“We’ll see what happens, but if that’s the outcome, it would be a huge first step towards this – I’ll call it a movement – a political party is just part of who we are.

“This is a movement to represent the common people, the silent majority.”

On a historic night:

  • Exit polls predicted a huge Labor victory of 410 seats
  • Piers Morgan described it as a “political and social earthquake”
  • He told our election show Never Mind The Ballots that Sir Keir MUST deliver after Tory debacle
  • A battle for the soul of the Conservative Party was already underway
  • Cabinet ministers including Jeremy Hunt and Penny Mordaunt looked likely to lose their seats
  • Farage reveled in record changes in his fledgling reform party
  • Shadow education secretary Bridget Phillipson practically claimed victory for the Labor Party when she was elected
It’s a social earthquake for this country and a disaster for the Conservatives, says Piers Morgan

We have already seen them as runners-up in the first three spots to be announced.

The Labor Party retained Sunderland South, represented by the Shadow Education Secretary with a majority of 7,100.

But Reform’s performance, which gained 11,668 votes, showed that the party was on track for a greater showing across the country.

Reform was similarly successful in Blyth and Ashington, coming second with 10,857 votes, while Labor polled 20,030 votes and the Conservatives came third with 6,121 votes.

Analysis: Britain will wake up to a political earthquake

By Kate Ferguson, Sun Sunday political editor

GREAT BRITAIN will wake up tomorrow to a political earthquake.
If the exit polls are right, Labor achieved victory with the biggest majority in its 100-year history.
It is a stunning turnaround from the dark days of the Jeremy Corbyn era of 2019, when the party suffered its worst result in history.
The Conservatives look set to be decimated. Europe’s most successful political party has been reduced to just 131 deputies.
Make no mistake: this is a nightmare for the Conservative Party. They now face the painful task of rebuilding and choosing a new leader.
But the big news of the night is Nigel Farage’s Reform Party, which is expected to win an impressive 13 seats.
This political maverick has thrown a grenade at Westminster – and he’s just getting started.
The reshuffle is expected to win the key seat of Hartlepool – the Red Wall seat in the former heartland of the Labor Party turned Conservative under Boris Johnson.
Nigel, 60, the godfather of Brexit, is a charismatic leader well-trained in waging war on “political elites” since his days in the European Parliament.
He had already run and failed to become deputy seven times before.
He finally won on the eighth try – and looks set to have a dozen reformist parliamentarians with him.
It has the potential to change the face of politics forever,
Sir Keir Starmer and the next Tory leader – whoever that may be – must prepare themselves.

The Reform chief had already predicted that his party would secure millions of votes, but only a few parliamentary seats, due to the first-come, first-served voting system that favors the two main parties.

And he made it clear that electoral reform will become central to his party’s post-election campaign.

Under his leadership, UKIP won 12.6% of the vote in 2015 – but just one seat, in Clacton.

Speaking at his last rally, on the eve of the General Election, he warned: “The demand for electoral reform, this time next week, will be in full cry. Is coming.”

It’s also no secret that your eyes are focused on the next election in five years, as he revealed he plans to challenge for prime minister in 2029.

Nigel said success, for him, would be for Reform to be the catalyst for “a dramatic realignment of the centre-right of British politics”.
