PProject 2025 is now a major talking point for politicians and voters in the upcoming 2024 presidential election between President Joe Biden and former President Donald Trump.

Led by the right-wing think tank Heritage Foundation, Project 2025 it’s a collection of conservative policies and a plan for the next conservative president. Although the US$22 million effort does not say it is specifically aimed at Trump, Project 2025 celebrates several requests made during Trump’s time in the White House.

The project is almost 1,000-page manual details a conservative agenda, outlining an expansion of presidential power and plans to fire up to 50,000 government employees to be replaced by conservatives. He tries to build on a “Mandate for Leadership,” which the new administration of Ronald Reagan used when it was published in January 1981.

Although Trump has tried to distance himself from the project, Biden’s re-election campaign has been working to draw more attention to what they consider an “extreme” agenda, especially as Biden tries to keep fellow Democrats on board following his much-criticized debate performance. .

On July 5, Trump denied his involvement in Project 2025 in a post on Truth Social, its own social media platform owned by Trump Media & Technology Group. He wished “good luck” to those involved, but reiterated that he knows “nothing” about the matter.

“I have no idea who is behind this,” said the former president. He continued, “I disagree with some of the things they’re saying and some of the things they’re saying are absolutely ridiculous and abysmal.”

Biden releases statement attacking Trump’s statement about Project 2025

On July 6, the Biden campaign released a statement from the presidentattacking Trump’s claim that he is not involved with Project 2025

“He is trying to hide his connections to the extreme Project 2025 agenda from his allies,” Biden said of Trump. “The only problem? It was written for him, by the people closest to him. Project 2025 should scare every American.”

He went on to say that the Supreme Court – three of the nine of which were appointed by Trump – gave him a “blank check” to do whatever he wanted, and warned his supporters that if he wins again, he will use the courts to implement the Bill. 2025.

“We can always count on Donald Trump for one thing: lying to the American people in his quest for power. We saw that on the debate stage when he set a record,” Biden said. “Together, we must defeat him.”

Earlier that day, Biden responded directly in a post on X (formerly Twitter) to Trump’s rejection of his involvement with Project 2025, clearly stating that “Trump is lying about Project 2025. It’s his people and his plan. But it is your freedom and your future that are at risk.”

The Biden campaign posted several lists and videos about Project 2025, with captions like “This is Trump’s plan if he wins.”

On July 8, the Biden-Harris campaign posted a photo of a banner on X, with the words “Heritage Welcomes the RNC Convention to MKE!” The campaign captioned the photo: “The Heritage Foundation, the organization behind Project 2025, is welcoming attendees to the Trump Republican convention in Milwaukee.”

They also followed news coverage of Project 2025, posting broadcast journalists who spoke about the agenda, including Chris Hayes It is John Oliver.

The campaign continued to post and repost memes about Trump and Project 2025.

In one of them, shared on July 4th, the campaign posted a scene from a dystopian TV drama The Handmaid’s Tale depicting a group of women in the parade’s iconic red dresses and white hats, in formation next to the Washington DC reflecting pool with a cross at the end where the Washington Monument stands.

“Fourth of July under Trump’s Project 2025,” the post read.

In another, the campaign responded to Trump’s Truth Social post with an edited versionexchanging “Project 2025” for “Order 66” and pretending that the post came from Emperor Palpatine, a great villain of the Star Wars franchise.

Biden launches new informative website about Project 2025

On July 8, Biden posted the link in X for one website his campaign set up, detailing the Project 2025 plan for voters.

“Project 2025 is the plan of Donald Trump’s MAGA Republican allies to give Trump more power over his daily life, destroy democratic checks and balances, and consolidate power in the Oval Office if he wins,” reads a statement on the website. “Fortunately, we have access to him in time to warn America and stop his takeover.”

Biden releases video asking voters to look for Project 2025

On the morning of July 10, a video was posted on Biden’s official X account, saying: “Project 2025 will destroy America. Look for it.”
