The brother of a murdered Maryland mother gave a moving speech about his sister’s death at the Republican National Convention.
Michael Morin, who spoke on day two of the RNC on Tuesday, thanked former President Trump for supporting his family following the death of his sister Rachel.
Morin took the stage to speak primarily about her sister, who was brutally raped and murdered by an alleged South American migrant in Maryland.
“My sister’s death was preventable,” Morin said, blaming Joe Biden for her tragic situation due to what she called a crisis at the southern border.
“The monster arrested for killing Rachel entered the U.S. illegally after killing a woman in El Salvador,” Morin said at the RNC.
In his speech, Morin blamed Biden for the border crisis and, later, his sister’s death.
Republicans have been critical of the situation at the southern border this campaign cycle, saying Joe Biden has all the authority to control it but chooses not to.
However, the reality is much more complicated than that, as Biden proposed a bipartisan border earlier this year that he believed was the most comprehensive in history, which was overturned in February.
“Joe Biden has opened our borders to him and others like him, empowering them to victimize the innocent,” Morin continued.
He also added that his family never heard from President Biden or Vice President Kamala Harris after his sister’s death.
“But when Rachel was killed, Trump called my family to offer his condolences,” he said.
“He cared,” Morin added.
“We need that leadership back in the White House.”

MURDER OF RACHEL MORIN
On June 15, Victor Martinez-Hernandez, a Salvadoran migrant, was arrested and charged with first-degree murder and rape in connection with the death of Rachel Morin.
Martinez-Hernandez is also accused of violently attacking a 9-year-old girl and her mother during a home invasion in Los Angeles, before fleeing to Maryland shortly afterward.
The 23-year-old allegedly entered the United States illegally from El Salvador last year, according to the local ABC affiliate. WMAR.
The mother of five went for an evening walk on August 5, 2023, but never returned home.
She was later reported missing by her boyfriend, Richard Tobin, at 11:30 pm that night, sparking a frantic search that ended with the discovery of her body the following afternoon.
The 37-year-old man’s body was found in a drainage well near the trail.
Martinez-Hernandez will face trial starting October 23 and is currently being held without bail.
He faces the possibility of life in prison without parole if found guilty.
