DEMOCRATS are even more worried about this year’s election after a reportedly disastrous Zoom call with President Joe Biden that took place just hours before the assassination attempt on Donald Trump.

A group of at least 50 moderate Democrats on Capitol Hill hopped on a call with the White House on Saturday to express growing concerns about Biden’s chances in this year’s presidential election.

The call came hours before the shooting at Donald Trump’s rally in Butler, Pennsylvania, boosting support for the former president, which one Biden supporter said was the “worst thing that could have happened,” according to Disco.

Democrats called the meeting to express growing concern about the president’s ability to win due to concerns about his age and competence after a nightmarish debate against Trump.

Biden mumbled and interrupted his sentences during the debate — and sources told Puck that his demeanor did not improve during the call.

“The call was even worse than the debate,” an anonymous source who was on the call told the channel.

“He was rambling; he would start a response, lose his train of thought and just say ‘whatever’.

“He really couldn’t respond. I lost a lot of respect for him.”

At least three participants in the call confirmed that Biden’s behavior in the meeting was “incoherent” and “dismissive of concerns.”

The anonymous party insiders said supporters were ready to publicly call for Biden to resign — but then the shooting occurred.

Gunman Thomas Matthew Crooks, 20, killed a rally attendee and shot Trump in the ear, leaving two other victims seriously injured.

Democrats who attended the Zoom call told Puck that the shooting took the focus off the pressure for Biden to drop out of the race.

“If the assassination attempt hadn’t occurred an hour later, I imagine 50 people on that Zoom were ready to publicly speak out against him,” a member of Congress told the outlet.

NASTY EXCHANGE

The member of Congress also spoke about a heated exchange Biden reportedly had with Rep. Jason Crow, a former Army Ranger who received a Bronze Star after three trips to the Middle East.

Crow asked Biden about the importance of national security to voters, prompting the commander in chief to fire back.

“First of all, I think you are completely wrong when it comes to national security,” Biden reportedly criticized Crow.

Biden’s post-debate gaffes

President Joe Biden’s gaffes have increased at an alarming rate in recent years.

  • Biden alarmingly described herself as a “woman of color” during a radio interview with Philadelphia station WURD on Thursday.
  • “I’m proud to be, as I said, the first vice president, the first black woman… to serve with a black president,” Biden said, appearing to be confused with Vice President Kamala Harris.
  • Biden previously served as vice president to President Barack Obama, the first black U.S. president, which is likely the source of his confusion.
  • The president also tried to go off script and insult his rival, Donald Trump, when addressing military families during the Fourth of July barbecue at the White House.
  • Although Biden came in strong, he fumbled his word and collapsed.
  • “By the way, you know I was at that World War I cemetery in France and one — the one that one of our colleagues, a former president, didn’t want to go and be there,” Biden said in an apparent dig. on former President Donald Trump.
  • “I probably shouldn’t even say that. Anyway,” he continued as his voice trailed off.
  • After shocking the audience, he quickly went back to the script and tried to regain his energy.

“You saw what happened recently in terms of the meeting we had with NATO. I set up NATO.

“Tell me one foreign leader who thinks I’m not the most effective foreign policy leader in the world.

“Tell me! Tell me who the hell it is!”

He then added a personal insult to the politician, saying, “Tell me something you never did with your Bronze Star like my son.”

The reported exchange sparked negative reactions online and even more calls for his resignation.

SCHIFF REQUESTS A TAKEDOWN

The Democrats in attendance are not the only ones concerned about Biden’s candidacy, as Congressman Adam Schiff became the 20th Democrat to publicly call for Biden to withdraw from the presidential race.

Schiff, who is running for U.S. Senate in California, said he has “serious concerns” that Biden could defeat Trump in November.

Who asked Biden to resign?

Democratic leaders who have called for President Joe Biden to resign ahead of the November election include:

  • Adam Schiff, Representative from California
  • Mike Levin, Representative from California
  • Brittany Pettersen, Representative from Colorado
  • Hillary Scholten, Representative from Michigan
  • Greg Stanton, Representative from Arizona
  • Scott Peters, Representative from California
  • Eric Sorensen, Representative from Illinois
  • Marie Gluesenkamp Perez, Representative from Washington
  • Brad Schneider, Representative from Illinois
  • Ed Case, representative of Hawaii
  • Jim Himes, Representative from Connecticut
  • Peter Welch, Senator from Vermont
  • Pat Ryan, Representative from New York
  • Earl Blumenauer, Representative from Oregon
  • Antonio Delgado, Lieutenant Governor of New York
  • Mikie Sherrill, New Jersey Representative
  • Lloyd Doggett, Representative from Texas
  • Angie Craig, Representative from Minnesota
  • Adam Smith, Representative from Washington
  • Mike Quigley, Representative from Illinois
  • Raúl M. Grijalva, Representative of Arizona
  • Seth Moulton, Representative from Massachusetts
  • Marianne Williamson, presidential candidate

In his statement to Los Angeles Timesthe Democrat called Biden “one of the most important presidents in our nation’s history, and his lifetime of service as senator, vice president and now president has made our country better.”

“But our nation is at a crossroads,” he said.

“A second Trump presidency will undermine the very foundations of our democracy and I have serious concerns about whether the President will be able to defeat Donald Trump in November.”

Schiff said it is time for Biden to “pass the torch” and “secure his legacy of leadership” by leaving office.
