US President Joe Biden has allowed Iran to “get away with murder” and the regime will push it over the edge in relation to Israel, an expert has warned.

Kasra Aarabi, director of research on Iran’s Revolutionary Guard Corps (IRGC) at United Against Nuclear Iran, told The Sun that Biden’s policy was a “complete failure.”

Aarabi, who specializes in Iranian military and security affairs, criticized the US president for falling asleep at the wheel.

“This is not the time for Biden to blink. The policy was a total failure,” he told The Sun’s Never Mind The Ballots, which you can watch on Sol channel on YouTube It is thesun.co.uk.

Aarabi stated: “Biden’s failure to impose consequences means Iran thinks it can get away with murder without facing any consequences.”

This has never been more important than now, he said, arguing that if Tehran sniffs out Biden’s weakness in his support for Israel, the situation will “escalate on all fronts.”

As the world anxiously waits to find out how Israel will respond to Iran’s missile and drone attack, Aarabi said Iran will be fully focused on how the US handles the situation.

“Iran knows that Israel will have to retaliate. But what the Iranian regime is testing now is US support for that retaliation.

“If it sees weakness in that support, it will use the next ten months as the best opportunity to scale on all fronts.

“Biden must stand firm and firmly support Israel’s retaliation.”

However, last Saturday’s attack on Israel is “more symbolic than significant,” Aarabi said, noting: “The IRGC warned the Israelis in advance.”

“In addition to using this attack for propaganda purposes, the Iranian regime is testing boundaries and increasingly pushing borders beyond red lines.”

Aarabi attributed Iran’s growing threats to his unshakable belief that the Biden administration will not come down hard on the IRGC — which he called the “godfather of terrorism.”

“We have reached this stage in part because the US has done everything it can to tell Tehran that it does not seek direct consequences on the IRGC.”

If Biden’s support for Israel does not continue, Aarabi believes: “They will increase on all fronts.

“Not just against Israel – against the US, against Ukraine, as well as [through] IRGC terrorism in Europe, which we saw just a few weeks ago when a UK-based Iranian journalist, Pouria Zeraati, who happens to be my best friend, was stabbed in London.

“That was an attack supported by the Islamic Republic of Iran.”

How Israel could launch a “revenge” attack against Iran

By IONA CLEAVE

ISRAEL’s war cabinet has drawn up plans for a “strategic but painful” revenge attack following Iran’s unprecedented missile and drone blitz – but world leaders fear the outbreak of an “uncontrollable war”.

From a fighter blitz against Tehran’s nuclear facilities to strikes on IRGC bases or attacks on its regional terrorist proxies – The Sun pointed out five main ways Israel can choose to strike back at its enemy.

Last Saturday night, Iran attacked Israel with a wave of hundreds of ballistic, cruise missiles and drones – Tehran’s first direct attack on its enemy.

Israel’s Iron Dome defense system and its allies’ warplanes – including the UK’s RAF Typhoons – shot down 99 percent of the projectiles.

The airstrike was a major departure from what has been a long-running parallel war between the two states and raised the grim possibility of an all-out war across the region.

Israel promised a “significant response” in revenge for the 110 ballistic missiles, 36 cruise missiles and 185 attack drones – which Jerusalem saw as a “declaration of war”.

Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu called off an immediate retaliation after US President Joe Biden pressed for restraint and warned him to “think carefully” about his next move.

But Israel says it reserves the right to attack Iran “in a manner and at a time” of its choosing and has told the UN that Iran “crossed all red lines” in its attack.

Jonathan Conicus, a senior fellow at the Foundation for Defense of Democracies and a former IDF officer, said this is the “opening act” of Israel-Iran relations.

He told The Sun: “Iran has for the first time come out of the convenience and protection of the shadows and decided to confront Israel directly, and in doing so, of course, Iran also presents itself as a target.

“How will Israel retaliate? And how will Israel convey to the Iranians the message that they have definitely crossed a bridge too far?”

As the world prepares for Israel’s response, UN Secretary-General António Guterres told an emergency Security Council meeting on Sunday: “The Middle East is on the brink.

“The people of the region face a real danger of a devastating large-scale conflict. Now is the time to calm down and calm down.”

Prime Minister Rishi Sunak condemned Iran’s attack as “reckless” and called for calm, while a joint G7 statement earlier this week also called for caution, fearing a “catastrophic escalation”.

But the question on everyone’s lips is how Israel will choose to respond, whether it could attack Iran and what the scale or intensity would be.

On last week’s episode of The Sun’s Never Mind the Ballots, Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu’s former spokesman accused Biden of “throwing Israel under the bus.”

Eylon Levy said the war had become a “problem” that the US “would like to eliminate”.

He fumed: “Unfortunately for us here in Israel, we don’t have a magic wand or a magic bullet to solve this problem because Gaza is not like when you were fighting ISIS in Iraq thousands of miles away, it’s in our backyard. .

“We still have 133 hostages there, we cannot afford to leave Hamas standing.

“The solution is not to throw Israel under a bus, the solution is to do everything we can to help civilians while standing with Israel.”

A deepening rift has grown between the two staunch allies as Biden’s support for Israel’s war against Hamas appears to wane.

In recent weeks, Biden has called Netanyahu’s handling of the war in Gaza a “mistake” and called on his government to send more aid.

Meanwhile, Netanyahu’s war cabinet has drawn up plans for a “strategic but painful” attack on Iranian soil, according to intelligence sources.

The Israel Defense Forces (IDF) are now simply waiting for the right moment to swoop in, as a fractured Middle East teeters on the brink of war.

Saturday night’s Iranian barrage, which saw more than 350 missiles and attack drones launched at Israel, was foiled by the IDF and allied warplanes – including RAF jets.

Despite worldwide calls for calm to prevail, Netanyahu’s ranks have repeatedly insisted that a retaliatory strike is the only response.

It comes as Middle East analyst Dr Anahita Motazed Rad speaks to The Sun about how a desperate Iran might respond if Israel launches a revenge attack for its missile blitz over the weekend.

She believes Iran could turn to its violent proxy army, Hamas, to use Israeli hostages trapped in Gaza as negotiating vessels.

The LSE professor said that “Iran right now is only thinking about survival” as Israel prepares to unleash its revenge.
