  • Trump and his supporters are attacking Joe Biden for dropping out of the race and supporting Kamala Harris.

  • Some in the MAGA world lament the millions of dollars spent on the race against Joe Biden.

  • Biden’s withdrawal also means that Trump is now the oldest candidate in the presidential race.

Following President Joe Biden’s withdrawal from the 2024 Democratic Party race, it appears the MAGA world will be very sad to see him go.

Biden decided on Sunday reject his party’s presidential nomination, and endorsed instead, his vice president Kamala Harris was the leading candidate.

His announcement provoked angry outbursts from former President Donald Trump and his supporters, some of whom called the sudden change of candidates a “coup.”

“So we are forced to spend time and money fighting the corrupt Joe Biden. He had a terrible poll after a terrible debate and dropped out of the race,” Trump said. he wrote in your Social Truth. “Now we have to start all over again.”

Trump added that he thought the Republican Party should be “reimbursed for fraud.”

Conservative blogger and friend of Elon Musk, Ian Miles Cheong, reposted a screenshot of Trump’s post, saying, “his campaign was forced to waste money against Biden while this happened only for the Democrats to pull the rug out from under him by pulling Joe out of the race.”

Madison Cawthorn, a former North Carolina congresswoman, echoed Trump’s demand for reimbursement from the Biden-Harris campaign.

“Someone sue the Bidden Harris campaign for a refund and seek an injunction,” Cawthorn he wrote in X.

“This campaign should not be able to spend a dollar on Kamala’s behalf until this is fully litigated,” he added.

Former Trump senior adviser Steven Miller also went on Fox News and raged about how the Republican Party “spent tens of millions of dollars running against Joe Biden.”

“Now they woke up one morning and said ‘it doesn’t matter, we’re canceling all the primaries, we’re getting rid of our candidate,’” he added.

With Biden gone, Trump is now the oldest person from the two major parties to run for president. And, sure, the Trump camp may well be outraged because it has spent months – and a considerable amount of airtime at the RNC – criticizing Biden for his advanced age – an argument it can no longer use with Harris, who is 59. years.

However, Biden’s resignation likely did not come as a complete surprise to the Republican Party. The Trump camp had anti-Harris attack ads ready, which they released within an hour of Biden dropping out.

Signs that the Republican Party is preparing for a confrontation between Harris and Trump have also been there for weeks.

Following Biden’s disastrous CNN debate performance in June, Trump posted a video to his Truth Social account on July 3 discussing the possibility of running against Harris instead of Biden.

“I took him out of the race and that means we have Kamala,” Trump said in the clip.

Trump was also already testing nasty things nicknames to Harris long before Biden left, including “Laffin’ Kamala Harris” and “Cackling Copilot Kamala Harris.”

And on Wednesday, the Trump-Vance campaign said it would not agree to a vice presidential debate until Harris chose “his running mate.”

Representatives for Harris and Trump did not immediately respond to a Business Insider request for comment sent outside normal business hours.
