Obama shared an X publish where he and Michelle said Harris had their “full support.”

“Earlier this week, Michelle and I called our friend @KamalaHarris,” the former president said.

“We told her that we think she would be a fantastic president of the United States and that she has our full support.”

Former first lady Michelle Obama also shared her own message of support for the current Democratic frontrunner.

“I’m so proud of my girl, Kamala,” she said.

“Barack and I are so excited to support her as the Democratic nominee because of her positivity, sense of humor and ability to bring light and hope to people across the country.

“We’ve got your back.”

“She’s had a very busy few days, to say the least,” the former president added according to Axes.

“But we couldn’t be more excited for her – or more excited to support Kamala Harris as the Democratic nominee for president of the United States.”

Obama shared a video of the pair calling Harris to lend their support to her.

This comes after days of speculation after Joe Biden’s surprise exit from the race on Sunday.

Biden gave a 12-minute address to the nation, where he said the reason for his resignation was to “save democracy.”

“Nothing can stand in the way of saving our democracy, and that includes personal ambition,” Biden said.

Biden also supported his vice president to take on his role in the campaign and lead the Democratic Party.

Harris also gained mass support from other top Democratic Party leaders, such as Nancy Pelosi.
