DONALD Trump will give an interview to the FBI about the assassination attempt on him during his July 13 rally.
The former president agreed to speak with the agency as part of standard protocol for interviewing victims during a criminal investigation.
Kevin Rojek, the special agent in charge of the FBI’s Pittsburgh field office, told reporters on Monday that Trump will speak with the agency.
“We want to get his perspective on what he observed,” Rojek said.
“It’s a standard interview with the victim, like we would do with any other victim of crime, under any other circumstances.”
It is unclear when the interview will take place.
News of the interview comes as bombshell texts released on Monday reveal that shooter Thomas Crooks, 20, was on the Secret Service’s radar for more than 90 minutes before the shooting.
The FBI created a profile of Crooks revealing him to be a “loner” who was “highly intelligent” after conducting approximately 450 interviews about the inmate.
