DONALD Trump has announced he has agreed to a debate with Kamala Harris on Fox News.
The former president he wrote on Truth Social on Friday night that the debate would be held online on September 4th.

Trump was already scheduled to debate with President Biden on ABC on September 10, before Harris was sworn in as the Democratic nominee.
According to Trump, the debate will be held in Pennsylvania and Fox hosts Bret Baier and Martha MacCallum will be the moderators.
Trump added that “the rules will be similar to the rules for my debate with Sleepy Joe, who was treated horribly by his party – BUT WITH A FULL ARENA AUDIENCE!….”
Trump added that Harris and Biden share similar politics and he hopes to meet her on the debate stage.

“This date is convenient and appropriate because it is just before early voting in the 2024 presidential election begins on September 6,” Trump concluded.
On a separate post from Truth SocialTrump criticized the Democratic Party for nominating Harris after Biden suspended his campaign.
“I spent hundreds of millions of dollars, time and effort fighting Joe, and when I won the debate, they threw a new candidate into the ring. It’s not fair, but it is what it is!” He wrote.
Neither the Harris campaign nor Fox News have confirmed the debate, and it is unclear whether Harris has or will agree to the Fox matchup.
US Sun contacted Fox and ABC for confirmation of the debate and did not immediately receive a response.
Harris’ office and Trump’s campaign team also did not respond for comment.
ABC LITIGATION
Trump added in his post that the litigation between ABC Network and George Stephanopoulos created a “conflict of interest.”
Trump was referring to a defamation lawsuit filed in March alleging that ABC News anchor George Stephanopoulos said the former president was found responsible for raping writer E. Jean Carroll.
Trump was found responsible for sexual abuse in a Manhattan civil court last year. The jury did not find him responsible for rape.
A federal judge in Florida ruled that the defamation suit could proceed.
ABC’s legal team moved to have the defamation case dismissed, but Miami Judge Cecilia Altonaga ruled that a jury would hear arguments in the case.
Trump’s comment about Biden ending re-election bid
On July 21, 2024, President Joe Biden announced that he will not seek the Democratic nomination for president and has ended his re-election campaign.

DEBATE BACK AND BACK
Trump and Harris argued during their speeches about whether a debate would take place.
Also on Friday morning, Trump told Fox Business that he wanted to debate Harris, but saw no reason to.
“Well, I want to. At this point I say, ‘Why should I have a debate?’ I’m leading the research and everyone knows her, everyone knows me,” he said.
There was initially a debate scheduled for September 10, organized by ABC News and agreed upon by the Trump and Biden campaigns.
When Biden dropped out of the race, it was unclear whether the debate would continue with Harris as the Democratic nominee.
During an interview with Fox News on July 29, Trump backed off his enthusiasm for the debate, citing that Harris was not yet the official Democratic nominee.
“The answer is yes, but I can also argue against it,” he told Fox broadcaster Laura Ingraham.
“I want to have a debate. But I can also say this. Everyone knows who I am. And now people know who she is,” he added, later clarifying: “The answer is yes, I will probably end up debating.”
Following her comments, Harris responded during a rally in Atlanta, Georgia.
She criticized Trump and his running mate, JD Vance, for “having a lot to say” about her but refusing to debate.
Harris then issued a warning to Trump the next day, telling the camera: “Donald, I hope you reconsider – to meet me on the debate stage – because, as the saying goes, ‘If you have something to say, say it to my face!'”
Harris has secured enough delegates to become the Democratic Party’s nominee, however, she will officially accept the nomination at the DNC starting August 19.
