President Biden said in an interview that will air on Sunday that “the most important thing” is “defeating [former President] Trump” after he dropped out of the presidential race.

The president quickly endorsed Vice President Harris following his announcement that he was dropping out of the race. Harris is now the Democratic presidential nominee and announced Minnesota Gov. Tim Walz (D) as her running mate on Tuesday.
Harris is now neck and neck with Trump in The Hill/Decision Desk HQ’s average of national polls, with the vice president garnering 47.2 percent support to the former president’s 47.4 percent.
