President Biden will speak at the White House on Tuesday morning to highlight what the administration has dubbed “Infrastructure Week.”

In a statement on the matter, the White House states that it intends to raise awareness about infrastructure projects initiated during Biden’s term. The name of this themed week, the statement explains, is an echo of former President Trump’s use of the same phrase, which the current administration describes as “an empty joke.”

Tuesday also shows Biden navigating a complex economic policy path as he implements steep new tariffs on some green technologies from China. While the move, in theory, could make Biden’s environmental infrastructure goals a bigger push, putting the brakes on trade in the sector is likely aimed at boosting the domestic market for North American battery and electric vehicle makers.

The president is scheduled to speak at 12:15 p.m. ET.
