Vice President Harris will speak in Atlanta on Friday at the mentoring organization’s annual conference 100 Black Men of America Inc. The visit is part of ongoing events for Harris that the White House is calling Economic Opportunities Tour. Atlanta is the first stop on the trip, reflecting Georgia’s importance in November’s electoral count.
Harris has become a key campaign surrogate in President Biden’s outreach to the Black community. Those demographics could make a big difference in Georgia, where the president is currently nearly tied with former President Trump in the polls.
The vice president is scheduled to appear at 1:30 pm EDT.
