White House press secretary Karine Jean-Pierre will hold a press conference on Tuesday afternoon.

It comes as President Biden announces a major change in immigration policy that has the potential to affect many families.

The measure will allow certain undocumented migrants with a U.S. citizen spouse to remain in the country and become eligible for employment. The regularization program, known as in-force parole, is now used for military families.

Documentation for some other work visa applicants, such as beneficiaries of the Deferred Action for Childhood Arrivals program, is also expected to be simplified.

The briefing is scheduled to begin at 1:30 pm EDT.
