Second Gentleman Doug Emhoff, in an interview on Sunday, argued that the importance of President Biden winning another term is so important that “the world depends” on it.
Emhoff made the comments during an interview on CBS “Sunday Morning”, after being asked if he ever thought about how he and Vice President Harris could return to California if the election was lost and everything would be “just fine.”
“We will win this election. We have to win this election. Literally. Our country and our world depend on us winning this election,” Emhoff responded. “That’s what’s going to happen.”
All the main leaders of the Biden administration have defended the importance of being re-elected throughout this electoral cycle.
Harris agreed in April with an interviewer who said the 2024 election could be the last democratic election in the US. She also said earlier this year that she was scared by the possibility of former President Trump regaining the White House in November, arguing that the idea of another Trump presidency is motivating her.
Additionally, first lady Jill Biden, in an appearance on ABC’s “The View” in May, spoke about what she said was at stake in this election, saying she is confident that “Americans will choose good over of evil” in November.
