Biden endorses Harris as Democratic candidate after ending his candidacy

President Biden on Sunday endorsed Vice President Harris to become the Democratic Party’s nominee as he announced he would not seek re-election.

“My fellow Democrats, I have decided not to accept the nomination and focus all my energies on my duties as president for the remainder of my term,” he posted on social platform X. “My first decision as the party’s candidate in 2020 was to choose Kamala Harris as my vice president and it was the best decision I made.”

“Today I want to offer my full support and endorsement for Kamala to be our party’s nominee this year. Democrats – it’s time to come together and defeat Trump.
