Former President Trump narrowly leads Vice President Kamala Harris, the presumptive Democratic presidential nominee, in several swing states, while the two are tied in Wisconsin, according to a new set of polls.

The poll released by Emerson College Polling and The Hill on Thursday found that Trump led Harris by 5 points in Arizona, 49% to 44%; by 2 points in Georgia, 48% to 46%; by 1 point in Michigan, from 46% to 45%; by 2 points in Pennsylvania, 48% to 46%; and tied with her at 47 percent each in Wisconsin.

In every state except Arizona, the vote is within the poll’s margin of error, meaning Trump and Harris are essentially tied in most state matchups.

Harris notably outperforms President Biden in polls in each of the swing states since a similar poll was released earlier this month, edging the president by 5 points in Georgia, 4 points in Arizona and Wisconsin, and 3 points in Michigan and Pennsylvania.

An aggregate of national polls compiled by The Hill and Decision Desk HQ on Wednesday afternoon showed Trump leading Harris, about 48% to 46% — a slightly narrower margin than an aggregate of national polls showing Trump leading Biden by 47% to 43%.

The vice president has already hit the ground running since receiving Biden’s endorsement on Sunday, visiting Milwaukee on Tuesday for her first rally since Biden dropped out.

“Harris has regained a portion of the Democratic vote on the presidential ticket since the fallout from the June 27 debate,” explained Spencer Kimball, executive director of Emerson College Polling, in a press release. to Biden’s in March.”

“Young voters have switched to Harris: Her support is up 16 points in Arizona, eight in Georgia, five in Michigan, 11 in Pennsylvania and one in Wisconsin since earlier polls this month.”

Of the vice presidential candidates coming from key swing states — Sen. Mark Kelly (D-Ariz.), Pennsylvania Gov. Josh Shapiro (D) and Gov. Gretchen Whitmer (D) — Shapiro had the most Democratic voters of within their respective states support him to be Harris’ running mate (57 percent). Another 42 percent of Arizona Democratic voters supported Kelly, while 36 percent of Michigan Democratic voters supported Whitmer.

The poll also offered good news for Senate Democrats: Sens. Bob Casey (D-Pa.) and Tammy Baldwin (D-Wis.), as well as Reps. Elissa Slotkin (D-Mich.) and Ruben Gallego (D-Ariz. ). .), lead their respective Republican competitors in the Senate by 4 or 5 points.

Democrats rallied around Harris after Biden announced over the weekend that he would withdraw from the presidential race, supporting his vice president instead. Several prominent Democrats quickly threw their support behind Harris with the Democratic National Convention just weeks away.

The poll also illustrates how Democratic Senate candidates continue to outperform the Democratic presidential nominee.

The Emerson College Polling/The Hill poll surveyed respondents July 22-23. Eight hundred respondents were interviewed in Arizona, Georgia and Michigan each, with a margin of error of 3.4 percentage points for each. In Pennsylvania, 850 respondents were interviewed, with a margin of error of 3.3 percentage points. In Wisconsin, 845 respondents were interviewed with a margin of error of 3.3 percentage points.
