The White House is expected to hold a news conference on Wednesday as tensions in the Middle East rise with the death of a senior Hamas leader in Iran.
Secretary of State Antony Blinken said the US had no involvement in the murder of Ismail Haniyeh.
The latest airstrike on Tehran risks increasing tensions between Israel and Iran, which has blamed Israel for the attack. Israel made no immediate comment on the assassination, but the military has vowed to eliminate Hamas and its leaders in the months following the October 7 attack that triggered the ongoing war in the region.
The event is scheduled to begin at 1:30 pm EDT.
