Former Rep. George Santos (RN.Y.) went after former House colleagues on Saturday, asking if they would draft a resolution to expel Rep. Henry Cuellar (D-Texas).

“Hey @RitchieTorres are you going to draft an expulsion resolution for Henry Cuellar? Or is this just for Republicans who switch seats?” Santos he said in a post on social platform X addressed to Representative Ritchie Torres (DN.Y.). “Inquiring minds want to know.”

In February of last year, Rep. Robert Garcia (D-Calif.), alongside Torres and Reps. Dan Goldman (DN.Y.), Becca Balint (D-Vt.), and Eric Sorensen (D-Ill.) , released a resolution to expel Santos. Santos was expelled from the Chamber at the end of the year, becoming the sixth legislator to be removed from the Chamber.

“So here’s the deal… will Miss @RepRobertGarcia draft an expulsion resolution for Henry Cuellar?” Santos he said in another post on X Saturday. “Inquiring minds want to know.”

Cuellar and his wife were indicted for allegedly receiving nearly $600,000 in bribes and laundering funds on Friday.

A Department of Justice (DOJ) indictment discussed payments the Texas Democrat allegedly received through an oil company owned by the Azerbaijani government and a Mexican bank.

“The bribe payments were allegedly laundered, pursuant to false consulting contracts, through a series of shell companies and intermediaries in shell companies owned by Imelda Cuellar, who performed little or no legitimate work under the contracts,” the DOJ said in a press release about the indictment in the Southern District of Texas.

Cuellar said in a statement through his campaign that “both my wife and I are innocent of these allegations.”

“Everything I did in Congress was to serve the people of South Texas,” he said.
