Lawyer says Stormy Daniels expected to testify Tuesday in secret Trump trial: Live updates

An attorney for Stormy Daniels confirmed to The Hill that the porn star at the center of former President Trump’s secret trial is expected to take the stand Tuesday in Manhattan.

His attorney, Clark Brewster, first told the Associated Press that his client would “probably” testify during the trial, in the third week of witness testimony.

The prosecution’s case rests largely on a $130,000 payment Daniels received from former Trump aide Michael Cohen to keep quiet about an alleged affair she had with Trump while he was running for president. in 2016.

So far, the prosecution has called more than 10 witnesses to testify, as the trial enters its third week of testimony. They included a top Trump political adviser, a former tabloid executive and a lawyer with multiple celebrity ties.
