Senator Lisa Murkowski (R-Alaska) has reportedly targeted other members of her party who participated in former President Trump’s trial in New York.

“Do we have anything to do around here other than watch a stupid porn trial? I mean, this is ridiculous,” said the Alaska Republican said Tuesdayaccording to HuffPost, when the outlet asked her about the Republican Party members who attended the trial this week.

Those joining the former president include House Speaker Mike Johnson (R-La.), former GOP presidential candidate Vivek Ramaswamy, Sen. J.D. Vance (R-Ohio), Tommy Tuberville (R-Ala. .) and Rick Scott (R-Ala.) -Florida) and Rep. Byron Donalds (R-Florida).

Trump appears to be pleased with the visible support from his fellow Republicans.

“I have a lot of surrogates and they speak very well,” Trump said. “We have a lot of great people here to talk to you.”

Trump’s trial in New York began last month, marking the first criminal trial of an American president. He was charged with 34 counts of falsifying business records in connection with reimbursements to his former lawyer, Michael Cohen, who paid a porn star $130,000 before the 2016 election to keep quiet about an alleged affair with Trump, who he denies having had it.

Johnson resisted the silent trial in comments outside the Manhattan courthouse on Tuesday.

“This is the fifth week that President Trump has been in court for this farce of a trial. They are doing this intentionally to keep him here and off the campaign trail,” Johnson said. “And I think everyone in the country can see that for what it really is.”

“President Trump is innocent of these charges,” he later declared.

Murkowski, who voted to convict the former president in his second impeachment trial in 2021, suggested she is not entirely against leaving the Republican Party, noting its shift toward Trump.

“I wish as Republicans we had a candidate I could support. I certainly can’t support Donald Trump,” she said in an interview with “Inside Politics With Manu Raju.”
