Former White House communications director Anthony Scaramucci said Friday that former President Trump’s financial trial in New York is serving as a “binding loyalty test.”

“It’s a section of senior Republican officials, but it’s a mandatory test of loyalty for all of them,” Scaramucci he said on CNN’s “The Lead” with anchor Jake Tapper. “They are using the same hand signals as Donald Trump; They’re wearing the same clothes as Donald Trump.”

“But it will never be enough for Donald Trump,” he added.

His comments came after several Republican politicians traveled to New York to attend Trump’s secret trial. Most notably in attendance were Sen. J.D. Vance (R-Ohio), House Speaker Mike Johnson (R-La.), House Freedom Caucus Chairman Bob Good (R-Va.), and Rep. Lauren Boebert (R-Colo. .).

“Unfortunately, for all these guys, Michael Cohen learned this, other people, including myself, who worked for Mr. Trump, there is no pleasing him and he is incredibly transactional,” Scaramucci continued.

Good, who visited the courtroom on Thursday, said he and his colleagues went to the trial to stand in solidarity with Trump as he remains under a gag order in the case.

“They have a gag order against him,” Good said Friday on Fox Business’ “Varney & Co.” “That’s why we went there, so we could say things… this corrupt judge isn’t allowing him to say it. ”

The order, which has been expanded, prohibits him from commenting publicly about witnesses, prosecutors, court staff and the family of Judge Juan Merchan. He may, however, comment on Manhattan judge and district attorney Alvin Bragg.

“This is a judge who seems to have all the high-profile conservative judgments up there,” Good continued in the Fox Business interview. “And his own daughter is making — raising … tens of millions of dollars for the Democratic party, with this very trial.”

Trump faces 34 counts of falsifying business records related to a $130,000 payment Cohen made to adult film star Story Daniels in the final days of the 2016 election. The hush money payment was intended to silence her from going public with an alleged affair she had with the former president in 2006, which he denied.

Daniels and Cohen, Trump’s former personal lawyer, testified at the trial. Cohen’s questioning is expected to continue next week.
