Former New York City Mayor Rudy Giuliani has agreed to stop accusing two former Georgia election officials of voter fraud, lawyers say.

According to lawyers for Ruby Freeman and Shaye Moss, the two former Georgia election officials who won a $148 million defamation lawsuit against Giuliani, the former mayor has agreed to stop accusing them of election-related irregularities. 2020 presidential elections.

Giuliani agreed to never again accuse either woman of “engaging in any wrongdoing related to the 2020 election,” the women’s lawyers said. said in an online statement.

Michael Gottlieb, an attorney for the women, said Tuesday’s admission ends Giuliani’s “efforts to profit from lies about these two heroes of American democracy.”

Ted Goodman, a spokesman for Giuliani, said in a statement to The Hill that Giuliani agreed not to comment on the two individuals “until the cases are resolved” after receiving advice from his lawyers.

“He will continue to comment on everything else surrounding the 2020 election, especially the latest developments in Fulton Country,” Goodman said.

Goodman argued that Gottlieb’s claim that the former mayor is profiting from lies is false, and the lawyer is being purposely dishonest to “try to get favorable headlines.”

Giuliani was ordered to pay the staggering sum to Freeman and Moss following a four-day civil trial in December. He was found liable months earlier, but the jury met to decide how much he should pay in damages. Days after the decision, Giuliani filed for bankruptcy.

More recently, he lost his bid to throw out the verdict in April. Giuliani’s lawyer said they will now appeal the case to the D.C. Circuit Court.

The women claimed their lives were turned upside down after facing a torrent of racist and violent threats after being baselessly accused of committing election fraud.
