Former Trump White House communications director Anthony Scaramucci said former President Trump is mentally preparing for a guilty plea in his New York hush money case.

Reacting Wednesday to Trump’s outrage outside the courtroom that “Mother Teresa couldn’t beat these charges, these charges are rigged, the whole thing is rigged,” Scaramucci said the former president is preparing his supporters and himself even for a “potential” guilty plea. .

“I am quite confident that your lawyers have instructed you that the way the jury was instructed by the judge [Juan] It will be very difficult for Merchan not to come back with some guilty plea on several of these 34 counts,” Scaramucci said during his Wednesday appearance on “The Hill at NewsNation”

“And so I think he’s laying his groundwork and preparing himself mentally for a possible guilty plea,” later adding, “If he escapes, then he’ll be better than Mother Teresa.”

Scaramucci’s comments came as the 12-person jury began deliberating Trump’s first criminal case Wednesday morning. The jury later on Wednesday made four requests to examine crucial testimony and asked to hear Merchan’s instructions again before calling it a day.

The former Trump administration official said Wednesday that Trump is “upset” because of the way he moved his hands while speaking to reporters outside the Manhattan courthouse on Wednesday.

“But if you see that accordion movement he’s doing there, it’s a nervous tic of his,” Scaramucci said. “And then when he gets upset, he always goes into the accordion movement and that indicates he’s upset.”

Trump faces 34 criminal charges related to reimbursements he made to his former fixer Michael Cohen after paying adult film actress Stormy Daniels $130,000 in 2016 to keep quiet about an alleged sexual affair. Trump denied the alleged 2006 meeting and declared himself innocent in the case.

On Tuesday, Scaramucci said the recent attacks against Merchan suggest he is “super nervous” about the verdict in the case.
