Jurors have reached a verdict in former President Trump’s criminal case, the judge said as he read a jury note Thursday afternoon.
The 12 New Yorkers serving on Trump’s jury indicated they reached a unanimous decision on his fate, eliminating the possibility of a hung jury in the first criminal trial of a former president.
Trump faces 34 counts of falsifying business records in connection with a secret payment his former fixer, Michael Cohen, made to porn actress Stormy Daniels before the 2016 election to keep her alleged affair with Trump a decade earlier secret until after for votes to be cast. Trump denies the case and declares himself innocent.
