Jack O’Donnell, former president and COO of the Trump Plaza Hotel and Casino in Atlantic City, NJ, said the guilty verdict in former President Trump’s case will harm his health.

“For other people’s point of view about his appearance in court, I mean, his health, you know, it’s going to take a toll on his health and I hate to say that,” O’Donnel told CNN’s Erin Burnett on Thursday night. fair. . “That won’t be interesting to see, but, you know, he’s not a very healthy man.”

“So this is going to be very stressful for him whether he makes that face or not,” he said.

Trump made history on Thursday, becoming the first former US president to be convicted of a crime. The 12-person New York jury found him guilty of all counts of falsifying business records.

Judge Juan Merchan set the sentencing hearing for July 11, just days before the Republican National Convention, where he is expected to become the party’s official presidential candidate.

Burnett asked O’Donnell what he thinks Trump’s next steps and reactions would be. The former president still faces a gag order in the case.

“Well, he got caught…you know, with his hand in the cookie jar, so to speak, so he’s not happy,” he replied.

O’Donnell worked for Trump for three years and released a book called “Trumped!” with James Rutherford in 1991 detailing how to do business with the billionaire.

He acknowledged to Burnett that they have spoken anecdotally for years about the way Trump has managed his affairs and how the former president handles the verdict will not be a surprise.

“This is how the man runs his business and, frankly, I don’t think he’s going to change who he is,” O’Donnell said. “He will never show remorse, you know, for that conviction. And… he will continue to be Donald Trump.”
