Former President Trump again denied referring to fallen American soldiers as “suckers” and “losers” after President Biden stopped Sunday at the cemetery in France that Trump did not visit during his own trip to the country in 2018.

“Obviously, I never said that dead soldiers are ‘losers and losers.’ Who would say such a thing?” Trump posted on Truth Social, calling the accusation “made-up misinformation” coming from his opponents.

“Whenever you see that despicable and false statement being used, remember it comes from the FASCIST SCUM that is destroying our country,” Trump posted.

Trump’s latest denial came shortly after Biden’s trip to France, which ended with a stop in Aisne-Marne American Cemeterywhere more than 2,200 American soldiers who fought in the First World War are buried.

Although Biden did not mention Trump during his visit to the cemetery, the stop was an undeniable rebuke of the former president and presumptive 2024 Republican nominee.

During his trip to France in 2018, Trump missed a planned visit to the same cemetery, with the White House citing bad weather as the reason. The Atlantic reported in 2020 that Trump asked officials, “Why should I go to that cemetery? It’s full of losers.” The magazine reported that Trump later referred to the war dead as “suckers” for being killed.

Although Trump denied making the comments, his former chief of staff, John Kelly, later corroborated the magazine’s report.

Biden and his campaign have repeatedly invoked the alleged comments on the campaign trail, arguing that it shows Trump doesn’t care about veterans or the military.
