Boeing CEO Dave Calhoun is testifying Tuesday before the Senate Homeland Security and Governmental Affairs Investigations Subcommittee about a series of mechanical failures that have raised questions about safety standards at the aerospace giant.

Sen. Richard Blumenthal’s (D-Conn.) team on Tuesday named the latest of several whistleblowers who have alleged that Boeing’s safety practices are inadequate. Another former Boeing manager, John Barnett, was determined by police to have died by suicide after delivering part of a statement alleging manufacturing problems.

The Federal Aviation Administration was already investigating the company’s practices when a door exploded on an Alaska Airlines Boeing 737 Max 9 earlier this year, bringing Boeing’s safety culture into the spotlight.

The hearing is scheduled to begin at 2pm EDT.
