The US killed a senior ISIS official during a strike in Syria on Sunday, according to the military.

US Central Command (CENTCOM) said the airstrike killed Usamah Jamal Muhammad Ibrahim al-Janabi.

“His death will disrupt ISIS’s ability to obtain resources and conduct terrorist attacks,” CENTCOM said in a statement. statement on social platform. “CENTCOM, together with allies and partners in the region, will continue to execute operations to degrade the operational capabilities of ISIS and ensure its lasting defeat.”

CENTCOM said there is no indication that any civilians were injured in the attack.
