Russia attacked Ukraine with a series of missile attacks on Monday, killing at least 28 people in a barrage that hit an apartment complex and a children’s hospital.

More than 100 people were also injured in the attacks, according to a Telegram post by Ihor Klymenko, head of Ukraine’s Ministry of Internal Affairs.

Klymenko said Russia targeted 50 civilian objects. The attacks killed 11 people in the Dnipropetrovsk region and 17 in the capital Kiev.

Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky said in a post on social platform that the Okhmatdyt Children’s Hospital, which he said had saved thousands of children, was hit in the attack.

“Now that the hospital has been damaged by a Russian attack, there are people under the rubble and the exact number of victims is still unknown,” Zelensky wrote. “Russia cannot claim ignorance about where its missiles fly and must be held fully accountable for all its crimes.”

The General Staff of the Armed Forces of Ukraine reported that Russia launched around 38 missiles at the country, and around 30 of them were destroyed by Ukrainian defenses.

“Another terrorist attack on peaceful cities. Ukraine is in mourning,” the Ukrainian military said wrote on Facebook.

Russia’s campaign to attack Ukrainian infrastructure led the International Criminal Court (ICC) last month to issue arrest warrants for former Russian Defense Minister Sergei Shoigu and Valery Gerasimov, the country’s top general. who also oversees the war in Ukraine.

The ICC accused them of responsibility for Russia’s attacks on civilian facilities and attacks on Ukrainian energy infrastructure.
