The Israeli military said Saturday that it struck Houthi military targets in Yemen as an act of “self-defense.”

“The Houthis’ attacks are acts of aggression, a violation of international law and a threat to international peace and security,” Hagari continued. “Today, Israel intensified its actions in self-defense against these attacks. The Israeli Air Force conducted precision strikes against Houthi military targets in Yemen.”

The Associated Press reported that the Ministry of Health in the Yemeni city of Sanaa said that due to the attacks, an initial number of 80 people were injured. A spokesman for the Houthis, Mohammed Abdulsalam, said in a post on X that the “blatant Israeli aggression” targeted facilities storing fuel and a power plant.

Some Yemen-based health officials also said the attacks had caused the deaths of several people.
