Sen. Thom Tillis (RN.C.) lashed out at Rep. Marjorie Taylor Greene (R-Ga.) on Tuesday, saying she is “dragging our brand down.”

“She’s a horrible leader,” Tillis he said of Greene, according to audio played on CNN’s “Erin Burnett OutFront.” “She is dragging our brand down. She – not the Democrats – is the biggest risk to our return to the majority.”

He added that the Georgia Republican is “misinformed” and “a total waste of time,” according to the clip, my Mediaite highlighted.

Her criticism comes at a time when Greene has been in the spotlight over her motion to nullify the threat against House Speaker Mike Johnson (R-La.) and her outspoken opposition to providing more aid to Ukraine in its war. against Russia.

A package of foreign aid bills – including aid to Ukraine and Israel – easily passed the House over the weekend and, after debate, advanced in the Senate on Tuesday. President Biden is expected to sign the bills on Wednesday.

After the House vote, Greene lashed out at Johnson and her Republican colleagues who helped push the additional aid. She specifically called the Speaker a “traitor,” in a post on social media platform.

“Johnson once again passed a bill with the help of Democrats, while the Republican majority voted against it,” Greene wrote. “Mike Johnson is not just a traitor to our conference, he is a traitor to our country.”

Tillis was not the first Republican to criticize Greene. Rep. Marc Molinaro (RN.Y.) said in an interview last week that the Georgia lawmaker’s political “theater” must “come to an end,” likely referring to his threat to impeach Johnson

Last Thursday, in an interview with former White House adviser Steve Bannon’s “War Room” podcast, Greene said she didn’t care if the “Office of the President became a revolving door.”

“If this is exactly what needs to happen, then let it be,” she added. “But the days of the old Republican Party that wants to finance foreign wars and murder people in foreign lands while stabbing the American people in the face are over.”

Despite the threat, Greene did not give a time frame for when she will bring her motion to nullify the resolution to the floor for a vote.

The Hill has reached out to Greene’s office for comment.
