Rep. Marjorie Taylor Greene (R-Ga.) vows to move forward with a vote to recall House Speaker Mike Johnson (R-La.), even after Democratic leaders said they would protect the Louisiana Republican from a conservative takeover.

On a post on X shortly after the top three Democrats announced that they would vote to introduce a motion to vacate if Greene brought it to the floor—effectively saving Johnson’s job—Greene said she would bring it to the floor anyway.

The Georgia Republican introduced her motion to vacate office last month but has not yet said when she plans to begin a vote on it.

“If Democrats want to elect him President (and some Republicans want to support the Democratic President), I will give them the opportunity to do so,” Greene said. “I am a big believer in recorded votes because recording Congress allows all Americans to see the truth and provides transparency into our votes.”

“Americans deserve to see Uniparty on full display. I’m about to throw them their coming out party!” she added.
