House Speaker Mike Johnson (R-La.) leads a panel discussion Wednesday afternoon on Title IX, which prohibits discrimination on the basis of sex by educational institutions that receive federal funding.

Title IX has been credited with opening up opportunities for women to participate in athletic programs that were previously heavily biased in favor of men. Some conservatives argue that allowing transgender women to compete in women’s sports actually reintroduces discrimination against cisgender women into competition.

The event is scheduled for 4:30 pm EDT.
