Former President Trump said Wednesday that Speaker Emeritus Nancy Pelosi (D-Calif.) is “trying to convince anyone who will listen that” President Biden “is a mental giant.”
“Crazy Nancy Pelosi is more of a cognitive mess than Sleepy Crooked Joe. She also suffers from a terminal case of TDS, Trump Derangement Syndrome,” Trump said. wrote Wednesday on Truth Social.
“She is a total crazy person, who impeached me TWICE and lost. Now I see her walking around, barely, and saying that I am a threat to democracy,” she added. “No, this is just disinformation from the radical left Democrats, which is all they are good at. She’s trying to convince anyone who will listen that Crooked Joe is a mental giant, and in great shape, which everyone knows he isn’t.”
Biden has faced political headwinds since a difficult presidential debate against Trump last month. The president’s performance has raised concerns among members of his party about his age, mental fitness and ability to regain the White House in November.
Pelosi said Wednesday that it is Biden’s decision to “decide whether he will run” as he has been dealing with calls from members of his party to drop out of the race.
“It’s up to the president to decide whether he’s going to run,” Pelosi said on MSNBC. “We are all encouraging him to make this decision. Because time is running out.
“But he’s loved, he’s respected, and people want him to make that decision, not me.”
Biden, in turn, has made it very clear that he intends to remain in the race, even though the number of Democratic figures calling for his withdrawal is increasing.
