House Democrat PAC Adds $24 Million in Ad Buys, Focuses on Three New Republican Lawmakers

The House Democratic majority PAC is focusing on three new Republican incumbents as part of a massive $24 million addition to its fall ad campaign.

O television reservationstotaling an initial $186 million in television and digital bookings announced earlier this year, put Wisconsin Reps. Derrick Van Orden (R), Bryan Steil (R) and Iowa Rep. Mariannette Miller-Meeks (R) on the list of PAC targets.

The new ad campaign in more than a dozen states comes as Democrats see a surge in enthusiasm over the historic change at the top of the ticket, with President Biden exiting the race for the White House and endorsing Vice President Kamala Harris in your place.

“In recent weeks, House Democrats have seen an unprecedented level of support with renewed enthusiasm and momentum,” House Majority PAC Chairman Mike Smith said in a statement.

“Our additional reserves are not only expanding the battlefield, but also doubling the attack. It is clear that in November we will take back the House and Leader Hakeem Jeffries will be elected Speaker.”

Van Orden faces a a handful of Democratic opponents for his seat representing Wisconsin’s 3rd Congressional District, just weeks before the state’s August primary. The politically deficient nonpartisan Cook Political Report rate your seat as “leans Republican” — while Steil’s seat in the 1st Congressional District is classified as “likely Republican.”

In addition to spending against new GOP goals, the House Majority PAC is raising more than $2 million in Flint, Michigan, where the retirement of Democratic Rep. Dan Kildee has opened up a competitive race, and $6.3 million in Philadelphia, around which Democrats are defending Rep. Susan Wild (D) and hoping to unseat Republican Rep. Brian Fitzpatrick.
