President Biden’s re-election campaignis releasing a new health adon Tuesday, delivered in Spanish.

It’s part of a $14 million digital ad campaign running in swing states throughout May.

“For Latino communities already facing health care disparities, these elections are not just a matter of politics – they are a matter of survival. Latinos deserve a president who will fight to make health care better and more affordable – and that is exactly what President Biden has focused on in his first term,” said Julie Chavez Rodriguez, Biden-Harris 2024 campaign manager.

“All of this will be at stake if Trump sets foot in the White House again. Their campaign for revenge and revenge would mean that millions of Latinos and working families would lose their health insurance, while health care costs and the cost of prescription drugs would skyrocket through the roof, in order to benefit their Big Pharma donors .”

The ad’s message, delivered in a mix of Spanish and English, explicitly contrasts Biden and former President Trump on health care, accusing the Republican of cozying up to corporate interests while highlighting lower costs of insulin under Biden.

The ad begins with a proverb in Spanish: “tell me who you are and tell you who you are,”which has become an unofficial motto of Hispanic Democrats in the Trump era, used in everything from speeches to TV ads.

The new ad translates the proverb as “you are who you walk,” before going on to discuss “greedy big corporations” and Trump.

According to a UnidosUS poll of Latino voters, health care is the third most important issue for this group, cited by 33 percent of respondents as an important issue, just behind jobs and inflation.

It’s also an issue that voters believe is better handled by Democrats than Republicans.

Biden’s opening salvo of announcements comes a month after his administration announced a rule to allow beneficiaries of the Deferred Action for Childhood Arrivals program access to Affordable Care Act marketplaces.
