The Supreme Court is expected to issue its long-awaited opinion on former President Trump’s claims that he has presidential immunity from criminal prosecution on the final day of opinion releases on Monday.

Trump’s appeal froze his indictment in the nation’s capital, which accuses him of conspiring to subvert the results of the 2020 election, from moving forward to trial.

The Supreme Court’s ruling now comes less than five months before Election Day, when Trump hopes to retake the White House and become president again, giving him the authority to block his prosecutions and possibly fire Special Counsel Jack Smith. .

The court has fewer than a handful of other cases on which it will issue opinions on Monday, most notably two cases involving a set of challenges to social media moderation.
